ILFRACOMBE & DISTRICT MODEL BOAT CLUB

Welcome to our new website.

 The Ilfracome & District Model Boat Club was formed by a small band of model boat enthusiasts who met on a Sunday morning at Bicclescombe Park, Ilfracombe to sail their models. After more modelers in the area got to hear of us and joined in our weekly get together, it was decided to put the club on a more formal footing and the Ilfracombe and District Model Boat Club was formed in 2000. We now have a membership of 36 to date from as far afield as Northern Ireland, Gloucester, Somerset, Tiverton, Braunton, Combe Martin, Barnstaple, Torrington, Bideford and of course, Ilfracombe.

We cater mainly for yachts and scale electric and steam.

(Sadly no i.c. engines are allowed due to council restrictions).

 The lake is at Bicclescombe Park, Bicclescombe Park Road, Ilfracombe and we meet from

1000 to 1200 on Sundays and Wednesdays.

FROM BRAUNTON, GO STRAIGHT AHEAD AT THE MULLACOTT ROUNDABOUT AND DOWN THE HILL TOWARDS ILFRACOMBE. ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE PAST THE 30 MPH SIGN, TURN SHARP RIGHT. THIS IS BICCLESCOMBE PARK ROAD. CONTINUE TO THE END OF THE ROAD AND TURN LEFT, THE POND IS VISIBLE ON YOUR LEFT. PARKING IS AVAILABLE AND TOILETS ARE ABOUT 150 YARDS AWAY. THE TOWN CENTRE IS ABOUT THREE QUARTERS OF A MILE DISTANT.
